Trust by design
Every record keeps a tamper-evident history, and every certificate can be checked with a code. Trust shouldn't depend on taking our word for it.
Serial Passport is a young company from the Netherlands. We issue and host EU digital battery passports for the brands that make, import and sell batteries.
From 18 February 2027, every electric vehicle battery, light means of transport battery and industrial battery above 2 kWh sold in the EU needs a digital passport. Large manufacturers are building their own systems. Many smaller brands, importers and e-bike makers don't have that option.
We started Serial Passport in 2026 to close that gap: a service that gives every serial number its own passport, prints the labels, hosts the record and keeps it up to date for the battery's whole life, without an IT project.
Every record keeps a tamper-evident history, and every certificate can be checked with a code. Trust shouldn't depend on taking our word for it.
We're based in the Netherlands, build for EU law and keep production data in the European Union.
A brand without an IT team should be able to issue its first passports in an afternoon. A repairer should only need a phone.
Public passport data is readable by people and machines alike, so it can travel with the battery wherever it goes.
We're a commercial service, not part of the EU or any authority. We tell you plainly what the law requires and what it doesn't.
A good passport helps batteries be repaired, reused and recycled. That's the point of the rules, and the point of our work.
We're a small team, and the people who build Serial Passport also answer your questions.
Batteries are first. The EU's ecodesign rules will bring digital product passports to many more products, starting with categories like textiles and electronics. We're building Serial Passport so the same register, labels and verification work for them too.
