Protection

We offer certificates for its users, and manufacturers

Both sides of every battery get proof they can show. Each certificate carries a code anyone can check at serialpassport.com/verify.

For users and owners

Certificate of proof

Every battery gets its own certificate on its passport page, signed on behalf of Serial Passport.

  • Proof of identity, origin and history
  • Accepted as evidence for insurance, resale and import
  • Print or save as PDF, in seven languages
  • Checkable with an SPV code

For manufacturers

Certificate of registration

Every company that issues passports with us is certified as a registered issuer, with a kit to show it.

  • Registration certificate with your operator ID
  • “Battery passport ready” badge for your website
  • Label guide and customer texts in seven languages
  • Checkable with an SPI code
How it works
Our certificates confirm what is recorded with us. They are not a certificate of product safety or legal compliance.

How to recognise a genuine record

The address

Official records only live on serialpassport.com. Any other address is not ours.

The verification code

Each certificate of proof carries a code. Check it at serialpassport.com/verify.

The history

Every event is chained to the previous one, so a changed entry no longer matches.

The signature and seal

Certificates are signed by Michael van Montfoort on behalf of Serial Passport, with our seal.
